Gregor's Folly — for MÖRK BORG
A downloadable game
Gregor Lygan was a rich and successful merchant. He had silver beyond measure, the respect of the people, even the ear of the Arch-Priestess. Though he spent his days extolling Nechrubel and praising his faithful, Gregor began to doubt. His wealth built churches and fed the hungry but still the people suffered. Had Nechrubel forgotten his flock? Surely the immense pain and suffering endured day in and day out would cause a just god to intervene!
One day while in his melancholy he had an idea. He was thinking about it all wrong. The reason Nechrubel hadn’t intervened is because there isn’t enough misery in this world, once the tortured souls in this world had suffered enough Nechrubel will whisk them all off to the Shimmering Fields and their eternal reward!
Gregor began work immediately, beneath a grand cathedral to his god he built a monument to pain and agony. Torture devices only dreamed up by the Inquisition, vats of boiling pitch, and chambers so cold they turn your blood into molasses.
There would be agony and pain enough to draw the eyes of Nechrubel. Gregor would lead the faithful from perdition into the Shimmering Fields.
